After visiting the Carlsbad Caverns, we drove another 50 miles to the Alien capitol of the USA,
Roswell, NM. We stayed the night with an awesome Couchsurfing host, Nadia.
Roswell is a quirky town of 50k people, the center for dairy farming, but most famously known for the
Roswell UFO incident.

Overall the town was nothing special, you can get the scope of the town in less than half a day by driving down Main St. and visiting the UFO museum. Aside from that, the town itself is really just another New Mexican desert town.
While in Roswell, we visited the
Anderson Museum of Contemporary Art. This is a free art museum, and it is a collection of art that was made by alumni of the Roswell Artist-in-Residence program. We were very impressed with the art on display, and especially for the quality of the art given that the museum was free.

Since we were in UFO world, we couldn't leave town without visiting the
UFO museum. General admission is $6, and I can't say that what you get is worth it. The "museum" is really just a large room with lots of anecdotal evidence of the "UFO incident", and its all pretty hocky.

We spent the morning in Roswell, and then continued on our journey west by taking the scenic road from Roswell to Alamogordo through a ski resort town called
Ruidoso. This town is set in a pretty mountainous landscape, and has a long Main St. with shops and cafes. Ruidoso reminded us of Lake Placid or a little bit of South Lake Tahoe. I bet the town is much cuter during the winter, when all the skiers are hitting the slopes of
Ski Apache.

After a brief walk up and down Main St. we continued on to Alamogordo, where we're staying in an RV park for the night.
